How to Become an Origami Owl Designer

I’m so glad that you are here and are looking for additional information on becoming an Origami Owl Designer! Asking questions is always the first step and I hope to provide you with the answers you are looking for!

To begin with, I think it’s important to share Origami Owl’s mission statement to ensure that it resonates with who you are and the type of company you would like to work with and represent.

Origami Owl Mission Statement

Our mission is to be a force for good; to love, inspire + motivate people of all ages to reach their dreams + empower them to make a difference in the lives of others.

What exactly is an Origami Owl Designer?

To put it simply, an Origami Owl Designer is an individual who is authorized to sell the Origami Owl product and earns commission on their sales.

What are the requirements to becoming an Origami Owl Designer?

In addition to wanting a fun and rewarding opportunity, the basic requirements of becoming an Origami Owl Designer are as follows:

  • Must be at least 12 years of age with a legal guardian signature
  • Possess a government issued Social Security number
  • Be a citizen or a permanent resident of the U.S.
  • Sign and submit a completed Designer Agreement

What are the benefits of becoming an Origami Owl Designer?

Without a doubt, there are many benefits to joining Origami Owl as an Independent Designer. You will have an opportunity to be a part of an amazing company with one of the highest commission rates (between 30%-50%) in the home party industry.

You can also make your business what you would like it to be and be your own boss! You can work as many or as few hours as you would like and you can set your own schedule. You will also have the ability to balance your work and home life and take charge of your career.

Becoming an Origami Owl Independent Designer can lead to new friendships and an opportunity to hear inspiring stories from your guests as they create their lockets and share their life journey with you. One of the best quotes that I heard at an Origami Owl conference is this, “At Origami Owl, we are in the business of changing lives. But we also sell jewelry.”

So many people would believe that selling the jewelry is the main focus of Origami Owl. But it’s the life transformation and the opportunity to become exactly who you want to be that makes Origami Owl that much more amazing!

How much money can I earn as an Origami Owl Designer?

The best part of a career with Origami Owl is that there are so many ways to be successful! The amount of money you may make as an Independent Designer with Origami Owl will depend upon many factors including your personal goals and the amount of time and effort you choose to invest in your business.

As a Designer, you determine how many hours you would like to work. Many Independent Designers operate their businesses on a part-time basis with the goal of meeting short-term financial goals. Others choose to build their own business to the extent that they are able to leave their current job and focus their attention to building their Origami Owl Business full time.

Our Career Plan is designed to provide the correct path for success and incentives that will compensate you.

Do I need to purchase and keep inventory?

Purchasing inventory is completely an individual decision and it’s certainly not a requirement for you to have a successful Origami Owl Business.

There are, however, some benefits to maintaining an appropriate amount of inventory as some Designers enjoy providing customers their customized lockets and jewelry on the spot instead of waiting for the items to ship.

It is also believed that having inventory on hand could help an Independent Designer feel more motivated and committed to her Origami Owl business.

Is there a sales requirement to be an Origami Owl Independent Designer?

In order for a Designer to be considered active in the company, they must submit $250 in Personal Volume (wholesale) every 6 months. Personal Volume (PV) is the product that you purchase from Origami Owl at wholesale, and then resell at retail. $250 in PV equals approximately $390-410 in retail sales.

Is there an opportunity to be promoted?

Yes! Origami Owl has created a well established career plan where you can be promoted based on your personal sales and the size and sales of your team. There are seven levels within the career plan and you can earn up to an additional 15% of your team sales!

How can I learn more or join your team?

could you please send me more info on how this works and do you have to be part of a “team” I see you can sign directly up on the website, and in my research I see that people are recruiting “team members”

      Hi Regina!
I just sent you an email and would love to talk with you more or answer any additional questions that you might have! While you don’t have to be a part of a “team” per se, you do need a Mentor and someone who can help train you and answer any questions and be a support system for you. Would love to have you sign up under me and help you begin on this journey! :)

      Hi Cindy!!
So glad to hear that you are interested in Origami Owl! There is a business kit that you would need to purchase to join the team, but that is the only big business expense that you will have! :)

Hi:) my cousin just signed up and I hosted her first party. I fell in love right away! And I mean with everything! I’m a very outgoing person and love big crowds! She on the other hand is shy and very organized lol I basically did all the talking for her and she took orders. We worked great as a team and had an idea. Is it possible to join with her? Not on my own, like her partner?

      Hi Justine!!
Thanks for reaching out! I’m so glad to hear that you fell in love with Origami Owl – there’s so much to love, right? :)

Sadly, there aren’t any team options for signing up as a Designer. We do have Mother/Daughter teams as part of our Owlette program, but there isn’t an option to sign up with your Cousin. Great idea, though! If you have any other questions, let me know! :)
